YAFs hold three retreats each year: one around New Years, one in late spring and one in the Fall. We also attend New England Yearly Meeting sessions where we conduct our own events and business.
At each retreat we explore a theme that connects in some way to our spiritual lives. The themes are selected by the YAF Planning Committee.
Retreats are held at monthly meetings through out New England. Carpooling is common and encouraged.
We take turns preparing meals for the rest of the group. Vegetarian and vegan foods are available.
Since meetings are not equipped with beds we sleep on the floor. You will want a sleeping bag and perhaps an inflatable mattress as well.
We try to leave each meeting in the condition that we found it in. At the end of each retreat we pitch in to cleanup the meeting house to respect the meeting is hosting us.
At most retreats we have a meeting for business where we seek clearness and direction on issues pertaining to the YAF community.
Most importantly: YAFs are expected to take responsibility for their behavior during retreats please read the expectations that we have established for ourselves before attending a retreat.
