Dear Friends,
We learned at Yearly Meeting this summer that one of our members, Fedelma
McKenna, would be working with Fellowship of Reconciliation in Columbia
this year. We committed at that time to supporting her leading, not
knowing what that would look like. I know several of us have sought
follow-up, and have had a hard time getting a hold of her. I just found
out via the Fellowship of Reconciliation Website that she is doing a 500
mile bike-ride to raise funding for this work. Please consider
contributing, and praying for her as you are able. They have a website
that they are updating through their bike-ride which they are half-way
through. Please encourage people you know that may be near their route to
get involved
With love, Sadie

Young Adults Begin 500-Mile Bike Ride: Join their "Pedal for Peace!"
On Wed., Nov. 1, 2006, Janice Gallagher and Fedelma McKenna commenced an
arduous 500-mile bicycle ride from Boston to Washington, DC. These two
young women will raise attention and money for the Fellowship of
Reconciliation's Colombia program, a human rights effort working in a war
zone -- where Janice will begin serving as a long-term volunteer in just a
few weeks, and Fedelma will join her in 2007.
You can participate in this exciting initiative -- by hosting Janice and
Fedelma for a meal, attending a gathering to hear them talk about their
plans to work in Colombia, making a donation to help them reach their
$10,000 goal, or even bicycling a few miles alongside them! Learn more by
visiting Janice's Pedaling FOR Peace Web site - they plan to write a daily
online blog during this long ride!
