Looking for a dynamic Quaker activity for your Saturday night date?
*Come Hear:
Kody Hersh: Saturday** 4/28**, 7 pm *
Kody, from Miami and Sarasota, FL, and Southeastern YM, will speak about
the experience of being reclaimed by God from secular life to spiritual
life, about being a minister called from a liberal Quaker background, and
about how his experience of reconciliation with God shaped and was shaped by
my identity as a queer person. Part of his ministry involves visioning and
helping to co-create a living, dynamic, and relevant contemporary Quakerism,
and he anticipates moving from a discussion of how he senses God calling
him, to a discussion of how God is calling us, collectively, as a people.
New Voices
The New Voices series, part of the 50 anniversary celebration for Beacon
Hill Friends House, features speakers, 18 -35, chosen by Young Adult Friends
from New England on the theme "The Call to Ministry:an opportunity for
today's young adult Friends to share where they are being called."
Coming in May:
*Cherice Bock: Sunday 5/20, 1 pm *
Cherice, from Oregon, Northwest Yearly Meeting (EFI), has also been part of
conservative Quaker meetings. She is called to rekindle the fires of the
early Friends movement, to lovingly and firmly call Friends from various
traditions to our roots, and to listen together to where we're called now.
These events (and more) take place at *Beacon Hill Friends House, a Quaker
Center in downtown Boston*
