Friends Camp has two summer positions; Health Hut staff and Maintenance and Kitchen Support Staff. Please see the Health Hut job description below. Friends Camp will help pay for the cost of Wilderness First Responder or Advance First Aid class or for the fees for an RN to get a Maine license.

FRIENDS CAMP - Job Description
POSITION: Health and Wellness Coordinator
QUALIFICATION:
1. Minimum of 21 years of age
2. RN, EMT, PA or Wilderness First Responder
3. Current CPR certification
4. Drivers license
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Camp Director
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To insure the overall health, safety, and well being of the campers and staff.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide first aid and coordinate any additional medical treatment.
2. Dispensing of medications to campers and staff.
3. Proper administration of prescribed medical treatments.
4. Follow and provide needed health procedures as described in the medical standing orders.
5. Report any safety issues to the staff and to the director.
6. Proper record keeping of medical forms, log book, and medications schedule.
7. Order and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
8. Set up relationships and agreements with local medical personnel and emergency care providers and fire departments.
9. Arrange for all medical transportation.
10. Maintain first aid kits for the waterfront, vans, kitchen, and office and for any off- camp trips.
11. Review health forms and report any vital information to the director and staff as needed.
12. Conduct health screening of campers.
13. Implement universal precautions procedures and provide staff training on dealing with body fluids and medical waste.
14. Insure the safe storage of all drugs.
15. Insure that emergency transportation is available for all camp activities.
16. Work cooperatively as necessary with all other staff members.
17. To interpret and implement the philosophy, rules and regulations of the camp, with special emphasis on safety and health regulations for the campers.
18. Insure that the health hut is clean and that supplies are organized and clearly labeled.
19. Attend staff meetings regularly and as needed relay information to other staff not present.
20. Contribute to the running of the camp as necessary.
21. Set an overall good example for all, other staff, and campers.
22. Prepare written evaluation at the end of the summer following the guidelines provided by the Director.
