*Quaker Studies *
a joint program of Salem Quarterly Meeting and Beacon Hill Friends House

 invites you to participate in:

* Be Thou in the World... *
what can New England Friends say about our outward work?

*Brian Drayton* will lead us in an examination of the historical
and spiritual tradition our outward work arises from.

*Greg Williams* will moderate a panel discussion of witness and Quaker
community
sharing experiences of how individual and corporate witness live in our
meeting communities.
Panel: Mary Hopkins, Nancy Shippen, Katherine Fisher, Greg
Williams

*Will Jennings* will facilitate our discernment --
what can we say about how we are called to witness,
how do we test our call, and what enables and strengthens us?

       *9 AM -- 4 PM Saturday
       April 26, 2008 *

       at Beacon Hill Friends House*

       Tuition: $30

At this workshop individual Friends will tell of their experiences in
activism and outreach and we will consider what it means to be called to
be "in the world, but not of the world" - focusing on how we are called,
individually and corporately, to be IN the world.
We hope to develop this sense - in the form of queries or advice - so
that we can carry it with us and send it out to the meetings and
quarters of New England Yearly Meeting.
